Application Process :

This is a sensitive task. The requirements for documents stipulated by the universities to evaluate the students' academic and test scores, opinion of their faculties, educational and career goals, financial aspects and other special background, are very exacting. Such requirements vary from university to university.

For example, while some universities may accept applications with documents from the students evidencing that they are in the final year of the program, some others may insist on documents evidencing that the student has completed his program, and some others may even insist on the students submitting their degree Certificate. Some universities may ask the students to have their credentials evaluated by stipulated Evaluation Agencies, which will substantially add to the cost of applying to universities in USA.

Most universities stipulate that the application of a student is a "self managed file" and the university will expect them to understand all requirements and complete them within stipulated time. Students have to manage with the published information.

A student, after spending a lot of money and time and applying to a number of universities, may end up without getting even a single admission, if he has not prepared his documents properly and met the prescribed deadlines. Remember that all universities prescribe an application evaluation fee, which may be in the range of $ 50 to $ 150, and once this is paid, it is non-refundable, whatever may be the reason for the application not being processed or accepted.

However much the student succeeds in his academic achievements, test scores and securing acceptance to a university, the student must be able to secure a visa to enter U.S.A. for the purpose of education. Students require non-immigrant visas and should therefore be able to demonstrate that their move is for the purpose of education and they intend to return to India. An interview process is misread by most of the students as a document process. Students should be thoroughly prepared.
